Within that sphere we’re treated to a voice performance by Woods that is a small, hilarious, somewhat dismaying tour de force. Lauren doesn’t bother to keep a lid on his simmering contempt, he just recodes it as a stream of virtue-signaling cant. But on balance their subplots are just a distraction from the endless permutations of Lauren’s perpetual ego trip. (It’s less able to afford the dull stretches that start to crop up in later episodes.) But all things considered, “In the Know” is pretty funny.

And then there are neopronouns (“new” pronouns), gender-neutral or nonbinary pronouns that are distinct from the common she, he and they. All pronouns indicate identity and can be used to include or exclude people they describe — neopronouns included, said Dennis Baron, one of the foremost experts on neopronouns and their histories and an emeritus professor of English and Linguistics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Other neopronouns are completely original to their user – some may choose to select a noun to describe themselves, like “star” or “starself” in place of binary pronouns like “she” or “herself.” These are called nounself neopronouns, but more on those later. Why people use neopronounsPeople may use neopronouns for the same reason someone else uses “she” and/or “they” — neopronouns may better align with one’s identity. An intro to nounself neopronounsLeaf, sun, star — nounself pronouns are neopronouns that use nature and other inspirations as nonbinary or genderless descriptors.

Talk Alok Vaid-Menon Is ‘Fighting for Trans Ordinariness’So much of the mainstream political discussion about transgender and gender-nonconforming identity is rooted in conflict. The activist, writer and comedian Alok Vaid-Menon acknowledges those fundamental, often violent clashes but comes at them from a place of peace and compassion. “I’m fighting for trans ordinariness,” Vaid-Menon says. When I was thinking about coming here this morning, I was like, I’m going to take the train because it’s delightful. In the past, it would be, People are going to stare at me; they’re going to gawk at me; I might get harassed.

Trans rights activist and TikToker Dylan Mulvaney revealed the results of her feminization surgery. In a glamorous "Swan Lake" and old Hollywood-themed clip, Mulvaney showed off her post-surgery look. The first half of the video shows Mulvaney, 25, dancing to "Swan Lake" while wearing an edgy, animatronic dress that she said was designed by Cameron Hughes in the caption. After sharing the glamorous video, Mulvaney took to her Instagram story to tell followers that she also wanted to share a photo that was "not as flattering" from her recovery. Dylan Mulvaney also shared a less "glam" glimpse into her recovery from facial feminization surgery.
